Dr. Dipti Bavishi is an experienced gastroenterologist who is double board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Bavishi is committed to providing excellent patient care and has been in practice since 1995. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), and the Texas Society of Gastroenterology (TSGE).
Dr. Dipti Bavishi was awarded a merit-based scholarship to medical school and graduated from Calcutta Medical College, a prestigious and internationally respected medical school, in the top 5% of her class. She performed her residency in internal medicine at the Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago (1989 – 1992). In recognition of her outstanding skills and work ethic, she was made Chief Resident in her final year. In addition to this honor, Dr. Bavishi was awarded many other distinctions during her residency including Resident of the Year (1991) and the Upjohn Award recognizing excellent performance as Chief Resident (1992). After her residency, Dr. Bavishi trained at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago (1992 – 1995) to complete her fellowship in gastroenterology and was awarded a National Institute of Health (NIH) grant during this time. Soon after the completion of her fellowship, she began her private practice in gastroenterology.
In addition to her commitment to provide excellent patient care, Dr. Bavishi recognizes the importance of research in advancing and enhancing our medical knowledge and as a result has published several research articles and abstracts in reputed medical and science journals.
